Teachings of Lord Buddha –

One of the five precepts of Buddhism is ‘Morality’, all the religion insists to follow the principle of virtue and practice of non-violence, evade from misconduct, robbery, and addiction to intoxicating drinks.   They encourage attributes like generosity, simplicity, forbearance, honesty, serenity, love, care, compassion, kindness, and discipline; which can lead to the path of enlightenment.  Practice of mindful Meditation helps for mental development, it strengthens our mind and removes the mental confusion, it brings the serenity of mind, it improves concentration, creativity, vigor and it also helps to achieve good conduct.  Wisdom or enlightenment is the Supreme state of consciousness; we have to make every effort to achieve that the highest state of mind, the realization of supreme consciousness is possible only if the mind is calm and pure.  The human life is full of sufferings; it is an inevitable part of life, sufferings from physical and mental ailments, deaths, the pain of separation, loss, and failures, major reason for sufferings are attachments, endless desires, possessiveness, yearn for sensual pleasure, desire to accumulate wealth, money, fame, etc..  Suffering causes lack of control over anger, lust, desire, ego, pride, and jealous, surprisingly sufferings are an individual choices.   Hence, sufferings are not mandatory though it is an inevitable part of life, there are ways to put an end to sufferings once for all,  Nirvana is the supreme state where there is no suffering, in this state person will be freed from attachment and desires, there is no fear or anxiety.  Therefore, virtues and disciplined life can only lead to the path of enlightenment, leaving behind all the wickedness, cruelties, conceitedness, and following strict celibacy, simple way of living will help to create all new perception, right thinking, aspiration and desire to free from attachments, ignorance, and hatred.   The practice of meditation helps to achieve control over sense, words, actions, and thoughts; it promotes good thought, it helps to refrain from evil deeds, usage of abusive language, getting involved in improper means of intoxication.  Mindful meditation helps to attain complete awareness of body, mind, and feelings.  The overall well-being can be achieved through meditation, reading scriptures and taking part in religious rites.

Lord Buddha's Teachings –


I found all the teachings of Lord Buddha are overpowering and mesmerizing.  Lord Buddha describes that a ship does not sink, because of water around them, but when the water gets inside definitely it will sink, therefore we have to make all the effort to move around the material world without getting addicted or attached to it, in other words, practice of attachment with detachment keeps a person live in peace at any circumstance.  Always respect elderly people, help weaker sections of the society, accept the flaws and move on, because these three stages of life are very crucial and everyone has to go through all these three stages of life.  The troubles and afflictions in life teach the greatest lessons, it transforms a person kind, compassionate, loving and caring, therefore sufferings have a positive effect on everyone’s life.  Always be deaf to negative voices, harsh and meaningless criticisms, always be blind to absurdity and vulgarity, and always be dumb to defamation.  Practice the act of generosity, but do not let others exploit, shower an abundance of love but do not allow mistreatment.  All the life events are ironical, tragedies and sufferings teach the value of contentment and happiness, the earsplitting atmosphere teaches the beauty of silence, and the absence of a person in your life teaches great lesson and value of the person’s presence.  Practice meditation which gives a new perspective in life, it teaches to behold all those beautiful things around, keep away from impurities of the mind, it provides peace and serenity, eventually overall well-being.  Always follow the truth, it never hurts, though it put the person into many difficult trails, finally the success will be yours.  Work for the progress of weaker sections of the society, refuse to go along with evil and always adore life.  Sufferings are inevitable, everything in life happen for a reason, never question it, it will take away the peace, better accept it.  Human beings are born with generous heart, humility, happiness, and kindness, because of the presence of Universal spirit which represents virtues and permanent bliss, the situation plays important role in everyone’s life, just need to stir it and bring it out.

The way to end sufferings –


Sufferings, mental and physical afflictions, the pain of separation, grief, poverty, and illnesses are the genuine cause for the interest in spiritualism, it is the ultimate truth and no one can deny it.   Spirituality is knowledge of self and God-realization, knowledge about Supreme Being who resides as a soul in living beings; we are madly driven by the sensual pleasure without the awareness of supreme consciousness which is the permanent cure for all the sufferings.  The practice of Knowledge of self is definitely not a shallow pond; it is an unfathomable ocean.  All the religious practices teach the ultimate objective, that is true enlightenment and liberation from worldly existence.  The practice of spirituality is definitely not practicing on a particular method of belief or faith which is more appealing and compatible, and practice on it and if it does not work, leave it and pick another one.  Bhagavan Krishna says in Srimadh Bhagavad Gita that practicing one’s own Dharma, though practicing it with flaws is better than following another person’s Dharma with perfection, which could bring dangerous consequences, Varnna/classes was established to follow Dharma meticulously,  four classes are established such as Bhramana, Kshathriya, Vaishya and Shudra were entrusted with certain responsibilities and duties to follow strictly.  The Brahmanas were entrusted with the duty of study of scriptures, promote the growth of Vedic way of living and sincerely follow Bhraminic rites, the performance of fire sacrifices, share knowledge on scriptures and Veda, ensure the augmentation of Vedic knowledge and protection of the same.  The Kshatriyas were entrusted with the duties of protection of Kingdom, implementation of rules and regulations for the welfare of the people of the country, protection of the country from its enemies, ensure the prevalence of peace and welfare in the country.  The Vaishyas were entrusted with the duties of production of grains in abundance; protect the country from famine, development of agriculture and animal husbandry.  The Shudhras were entrusted with the duty of serving all the three Varnnas with utmost sincerity.   Therefore following one’s own duties and responsibilities which are prescribed in the scriptures only can bring salvation from repeated births.

What is meditation –


Sri Ananandhamayi Ma says there is no specific discipline for practicing meditation, constant remembrance of Supreme Being is meditation, you can recite or listen to sacred texts, and you can read or re-write scriptures, there is no restriction in remembering Supreme Being, anyone can do that, any time or any place. Birds and animals never forget to chirp and produce noises in the early hours of dawn; therefore we humans should practice meditating upon Supreme Being on a regular basis.  You need not leave your family or material happiness or material world to conduct in search for supreme consciousness, all you need is a few minutes of practice on every day contemplating upon supreme being, keep few minutes  exclusively for meditation with a vow that you will not share these precious moments with no one other than supreme being, be adamant on that, after several years of practice, you can’t leave that habit, our body and mind reminds us to go on with this practice, it is the mystery of meditation.  We are satisfying all our bodily needs in the form of food, sleep, pleasure etc.., and meditation also one of the prime requirements of mind to attain self- realization and God-realization.  In ancient times, saintly people have chosen Bhramamuhurtha/early hours of dawn as the appropriate time for meditation, Thrisandhya/ dawn, noon, dusk, and darkest hours of the night/Mahanisha were considered as highly propitious hours of meditation, remembrance of Supreme being has a purifying effect on our body and mind.   Constant remembrance of Supreme Being gives immense benefit to us, it is our choice whether to follow it sincerely or not, it is called Abhyasa Yoga/Practice, with the regular practice it will become part of our indispensable activity.  Supreme Being is Mahayogi, with the regular practice of Yoga we are achieving nearness to Mahayogi/bliss, and once we put meditation into regular practice it will become natural and habitual as well.












Suffering –


I had an opportunity to listen to the speeches of Sri Anandhamayi Ma, I am writing down some of the interesting aspects in her lecture which my little brain could grasp, it added my beliefs and pursuit of learning spirituality.   Suffering is purifier of the soul; it works like a fire that burns the waste into ashes, hence suffering should be welcomed with a clear frame of mind, deeper adversities will leads to nearness to Supreme Being, it may drive the unfortunate to stay away from spirituality forever, and fortunate will make the opportunity to grow spiritually.  Suffering is unavoidable and it is essential to improve the perception, like everyday feast will make a person dull and unhealthy, therefore fasting is necessary, it will teach the agony of hunger, we will grow more caring and compassionate to people who are lacking it.  Every time sufferings chisel down our inner impurities like an ax carve a beautiful statue out of wood, we get hurt by this process, we may push hard into a state of extreme mental anguish and pain, Ma says it all momentary, all those sufferings and pain take the person nearness to supreme being which is supreme bliss, after a day’s struggle under the scorching heat of the sun gives us the opportunity to experience the coolness of moonlight, hence sufferings are purification process, it is the beginning of the search for supreme-consciousness.  Sufferings are for educating a person like a mother punishes her child for wrong-doing, a mother never abandons her child, in this way, Supreme Being shape us by putting us into momentary struggles and sufferings, depth of sufferings drive us too close to supreme being, eventually we will learn the method of master over the sufferings.  Ma beautifully explains the ultimate truth of ‘Oneness in all’, we are not free to act independently, and we are His tool.  Ma affirms that devotion is the supreme instrument to keep oneself unharmed from sufferings.

Good living –


Be good at what you do, be good at what you learn, and be good at what you think.    Learn all that arts you could in this life, never try to master it all, it is impossible, consider today is the last day to achieve, keep reading and never keep yourself away from the habit of reading and writing, I bet you these two things can keep you enthusiastic.  Invest all your energies in learning new things, who want to stick with the monotonous acts? Age is not an obstruction to learn, we have whole life before us to learn, never pay attention about what others say, it is their pastime, definitely it is not going to affect you a bit, never hate anyone in the process of growing, it is a toxic poison that could damage your health.  


Domesticated animals can teach us the greater meaning of love, spread love, and happiness.  Be genuine, you won’t hesitate to come out and meet the crowd without make-up, treat everyone fairly with respect and love, be grateful to God for the food in your plate, shelter place to sleep peacefully and stay protective, and clothing to cover nudity.  Never forget to help people who are lacking basic necessities of life, spend generous time, energy and money to serve them. Happy living!










Benefits of meditation –


Long term practice of Meditation is the source of spiritual enlightenment and mental well-being.  We all expect something in return while performing any task, a fruitful and drastic transformation which could help us to sense the happenings in life, understand the reasons for it, and approach the same in the right manner.  Meditation helps to achieve all those with gradual and mindful practice.  It makes us grow wiser and calmer; it will change the entire perception.   You will start realizing that you were stressing over the things which have less important and meaningless, all those short temperament and frustrations were eating you alive, regrets and guilt were spoiling your days and keeping you morose, pride and jealous were obstacles for your growth, constant comparison with the life of others were making you achieve nothing other than unhappiness.  Mindful living and meditation will keep you alive and confident, you will be ready to face any challenges in life, you will feel happy and contented with no reason, you will start loving your solitude, you will notice a radiant change in your approach to situations, you will grow more kind, caring and compassionate, you will learn to forget the unpleasant life events, you will learn to forgive and forget, you will be ready to motivate people and set a good example before others, you will realize that all the happenings in life has certain meaning and purpose,  finally, you will find a whole new meaning in your life.

You are my energy booster when I feel so exhausted

You are my best story-teller; I can seek protection in you, when I feel lonely

You resemble a mischievous child when I recollect those beautiful days of my motherhood

You are my little girl who gets terribly upset with the pain of aging

You are my adorable little girl who takes extreme joy in candies and sweets

You are my stubborn girl who goes out of  comfort zone to serve others, and find pleasure in life.

Forgive me for being too playful and making you worried about me

Forgive me for being immature and irresponsible at times

Forgive me for being too dependent on you for all emotional and physical tasks

Forgive me if I did hurt you by words, deeds, and mind.

Forgive me for not mentioning ‘Thank you’ for all your selfless work

You are my beloved soul, you are my reason, and you are my teacher,

You are my partner- in- crime; you are my strength and weakness as well

You are a magical healer of wounds in the heart as well as in body

You are the best comedian who makes me die out of laughter

You are an efficient problem solver with loads and loads of solution

You are my physician who spend hours and hours taking care of my health

You are my role model, I always adore you

You have taught me, love, unconditionally, serve people untiringly, and always be kind, caring, and compassionate, spread happiness, serenity, and peace

You have taught me to be a Fighter, and I will be…

I know I owe a great lot to you for your kindness, sacrifices, and unconditional love,

I owe you copiously for the discipline and goodness educated in me

I do not know when I am going to pay off!

You have been my superhero all my life… and will be forever!

I owe you profusely for the days you have carried me in your womb, and all those troubles you have gone through in your life while I was making enthusiastic movements inside your womb!

Prayer to Mother Earth –


I thank you with all my heart,

I honor the existence of rivers, streams, ponds, lake, and oceans that are the life source on the Earth

I take pleasure in the sunlight which gives warmth from the chillness, and nurtures our body and mind,

I enjoy the coolness of breeze, whispers of the wind which carries the chirping of birds, sounds of fluttering of leaves

I honor the dazzling flame which burn the darkness of ignorance,

I am grateful for the shelter, I shall always cherish your warmth and protection, kindly forgive my sins,

Oh! Mother Earth, I praise all that you hold to nurture your creatures

Whenever I feel alone and lost, I shall take shelter at your lap

I am at peace with you always!







Humility –


Humility is the absence of pride, sense of ‘I know it all’; the truth is that our life is not enough to get a glimpse of branches of knowledge, not to talk about master it all.  The sense of pride take away the respect and knowledge as well, a natural watercourse creates its way through downwards, grasses live to tell the tales  of heavy downpours, but trees that stand solid and erect would not make it.  Humility is a sense of respect and respect to other people’s opinion, I strongly believe that we have forgotten a greater part of simple gestures of respect; so expecting someone to respect your opinion is fruitless act, usually people who are surrounded by big families are enriched with the great sense of respect and they have taken all the initiative to pass it on to the generations.  Humility is sense of morality, being honest, fair, non - judgmental, kind, caring, compassionate, not to hurt others by words, action or thoughts.   Finally, we are humans with lots of flaws, accept it and make all efforts to correct our mistakes, are the greatest achievement in life, sense of vengeance is the worst feeling to punish someone for their mistakes, instead, forgive and forget works very well, it brings peace of mind.









Disciplines of Mind –


Tranquility, kindness, composure, self-discipline, and purity are the characteristics of a noble soul, these can be achieved through the practice of intense meditation and Yogic practices, with thorough knowledge in scriptures.  Ascetics are an elevated soul who enjoys permanent bliss, the unison of individual soul with the supreme spirit, where there is no sorrow or happiness, pain or pleasure, gain or loss, death or birth, wellness or illness.  A gluttonous or ravenous, sleepless or sleep addict cannot succeed in meditation, people who are unbiased in all the activities, and dispassionate would attain self-realization.  We all are shackled by the pious as well as sinful deeds of several births; as a result, we have to go through the happiness and sorrows, pains and pleasures in this life.  A renounced soul who is neither affected by happiness nor sorrow, he is supplemented with the knowledge of self and supreme spirit.  Self-realization and God – realization is achieved by the practice of wisdom and knowledge that would burn the ignorance like a wood fire.  Self-realization is awareness of the concept of ‘I’ as supreme consciousness which has all-pervading nature.











Top rules of life –


Perseverance is the key to success, in my simple language ‘Be a fighter’, never give up, and put all your efforts to achieve the goal, be it in the spiritual life or in the personal life.  Our ascetics and saintly people have gone through many ordeals and experiments to achieve their higher status, they were not expecting luck to change their life for good, they were fearless, promising,  and encouraging, they had good control over senses, they elevated their status from an ordinary person into saintly, they were in constant search for true bliss, they brought  to our  knowledge that material happiness is short-living nature, there is something which could alleviate the miseries and sufferings of the human existence forever, they ventured into new heights of spirituality and  attained the permanent bliss.   Happiness in life can be achieved with discipline, positive thinking, and practice of meditation, yoga and spirituality.  Never leave the habit of reading, keep reading all those things which make you happy and contented in life read all those truth-seeking texts like a child, and contemplate on the subjects you have read.   A life with no purpose is like a ship without captain in the middle of the sea. 






Life &  facts –


Everything has ephemeral nature, all the living and non-living things are transient, including you and me.  Therefore, it is meaningless to constantly think about sorrow or happiness, gain or loss, death or birth, pain or pleasure, richness or poverty.  There is no concept of ‘perfect’ people or thing; it all depends upon the perception of an individual; my definition of flawlessness may differ from another person, so it is waste of time to search for perfect people or thing in our life.  Life is definitely not a motion picture, so it is pointless to copy all those seen on the screen into our life, do we have any possibility to rewind or forward it? The interesting fact is that aging is the biggest reality in life, nothing can put a stop on acts or thoughts, but aging can definitely put a halt in everyone’s chase and overall perception.  Character and appearance are entirely two different things, we often mistake them, and a well-dressed, corrupt, good-looking, pleasant talking person gets more appreciation than an average person with integrity.  The bare truth is that all are born with the impurities of mind like ego, lust, desire, pride, jealous, etc.. Interestingly, we all can have fine control over this with the practice of meditation and spirituality.

Prayer to Mother Earth

I respectfully bow down before Mother Earth,

I am a daughter of woods; I gracefully listen to the chirping of birds, the silence of the wilderness, the flow of streams, and the magical whisper of old trees.

I graciously watch the humbleness of living creatures that created  shelter place in the wild

I passionately embrace the coolness of breeze and freshness of the air

Kindness is goodness, and your goodness is magic.

Being spiritual means whispering to trees, laughing with flowers, falling in love with the sun set

I shall adore those five essential elements sun, earth, fire, space, and water as a sign of gratitude

My soul is tuned to the stillness, peace, and quietness of nature

Woodland is the place to get lost the cluster of mind and find inner peace

Mountains are my bones, stands strong and elevated

Rivers are my veins, flows with twists and turns

Forests are my thoughts, wild and dark

Oceans are my heart, vast and with waves of emotions

Let us learn character from trees, magnanimity from its shades, values from the root, and changes from its leaves.







Life lesson –


The lessons that we learned from schools will not help to resolve the issues in our lives, many times we don’t even apply them in our workplace, academic qualifications are essential to building a career, but that cannot teach us to run life smoothly.  I have learned a great lot from my Mom, I am proud to say that I am applying them in my daily life; it gives me immense pleasure and sense of confidence, therefore we all have great teachers in our homes itself.  We need not Google for each and every query; all we need to do it ask our elderly people at home, I am quite sure; they will have loads of answers for a query.   I had great opportunities to learn from my paternal as well as maternal grandparents, God was too kind to me in that way, but I still feel that my son had missed a great lot away from the motherland, his childhood was entirely different than mine, all he had fun during a month vacationing in India, and otherwise, life was custom-built.  I had a great childhood with lots of relatives, friends, and family, it gave us great opportunities to learn and shape our lives in a better manner.  I still feel that our lives are predestined, so finding what is missing and what not, is not a great idea.  Hence, I strongly believe that all our lives are programmed in such a way not to get squeeze the life out.










Good – living


Good living is a tool for mental and physical well-being.  It is essential to get the required hours of sleep, though it may differ from person to person.  Sleep deprivation is one of the brain-damaging habits, causes many illnesses like sleep disorder, anxiety, panic attacks, gradual memory loss, and depression.  A good night sleep can keep you energetic; keep your day productive without any mental exhaustion.  Never skip breakfast, missing out breakfast can damage the growth of brain cells; eat your breakfast like a King after twelve hours of complete rest, lunch and supper you can amend as you wish.   Pick up any one of the regular exercises and follow it sincerely, I think walking will be appropriate for all age groups, get more sunlight that will help you to boost your vitamin D, means heighten the level of your happy hormone, hang out more in the open and visit the places like sea or creek side, or garden to elevate your mood.  Practice mindful – living, avoid multi- tasking, do your duties best of your ability.  Money is precious, spend wisely, and always make sure that it is giving a helping hand during the rainy season.  Personal hygiene is very important, it can keep you away from most of the illnesses, keep meditation and Yoga as an essential activity in your daily routine.  Take every chance to update you with the current events, fun, creative, hobbies, and books, general and informative as well.  Spend good quality time with your family, be supportive, caring and kind, understand their concern, never put them off, and if possible inspire them.  Take good care of mental as well as physical health, avoid intake of white sugar, carbohydrate, and caffeine or reduce the quantity, drink plenty of water that can keep you fresh with glowing skin and it is the best toxin remover.  Spend your leisure hours more in a pleasing manner, do all those activities which make you alive.
